Other parts removed



Drive shaft and catalytic shield removed

These two photos show drive shaft and catalytic shield as they were.


Removal of brake plumbing,gas line feed,over flow and vent line.

 First photo shows the complete Corvette plumbing showing the brake lines ,gas line feed,over flow and vent line.

The above photo is a rear view of the Corvette plumbing.

Change of Plan

Doing further research I found out it is better to leave the motor in until the front suspension is removed. This is so the springs stay under load and are easier to remove from the A arms. So I continued removal of other parts before removing the front suspension and motor and transmission.

Gas tank Cover and Gas Tank Removal

Removal of the gas tank cover only took removal of eight bolts four on top and four under the chassis.I had to remove the gas line feed and overflow as well as the vent line to the canister.
 The four bolts are attached on the cross member
 The four bolts are attached on the underside of the trans support bracket
Cover removed.

Next remove two bolts holding the tank straps and the tank is removed.
 Two bolts one on each strap remove straps
 Tank is removed
Finished removal

Dirt Removal

I scraped and brushed dirt from the frame and associated parts.So now I am ready to remove the gas tank cover and the tank and feed lines and vent lines.Pictures will follow.
